Otago Update

by Judith McDonald
The Otago / Southland region is settling back to “normality” after hosting the ANZPA conference in Dunedin in January 2009. The final report giving feedback on the various roles and functions carried out by the conference committee members has been completed and sent off, and we are now looking forward to the Sydney conference in 2010.
Two ANZPA members have presented their work to us this year. Judy Broom engaged us in discussion, and action, based on her thesis: “Protest, Clinging and Withdrawal: Attachment Theory and the Origins of Coping Styles.” and Joc Phiskie displayed aspects of her work with individual clients incorporating the use of Babushka dolls. Both presentations were informative and engaging .
August’s ANZPA meeting is a social one, where we plan to share dinner and watch some DVDs of Moreno, his work and relationships, which will no doubt be interesting.
